I once photographed a painter whose work was brilliant, colorful and vibrant. When I asked him about it, he said "I am not afraid of color."

Good words to live by, especially at a time when many photographs are judged by their technical strengths rather then the inherent joys of light, color, movement, emotion and engagement between the subject and the creator. I'm not afraid of color either. My images are small slices of time, color and light. My images are bold. They pop. They are icons. They are captured moments. They shimmer. They move. They shine. They are bright. They are energetic.

I took pictures when I was a little child. I took pictures as student. I told stories as a photojournalist. Today, in a more commercial realm, I make pictures that are less documentary and more into something that moves move into the heart of the scene, something that might tell the viewer a little bit about me, something that tells the viewer something about my relationship to the subject. And, more importantly, opens the subject up to the viewer.
