Even though I have a routine when I publish on Storyteller, there are days when WordPress sets out to defeat me. They did that yesterday. If I’m on some kind of loose schedule, I try to write the next days post very late at night.
I was foiled last night.
There was a software failure in the scheduling function of Storyteller, and I assume, WordPress. That was fine. I left the page up thinking that I would schedule the post in an hour or so.
Oh no.
WordPress’ fix was to publish it immediately. I knew this because I checked the mini version on my phone thinking I could schedule it from there.
So, there is no post for July 2. There were two for July 1. I can’t tell you how many years it’s been since I missed a day.
I’m pretty sure I know what happened. Some young programmer thought it would be a good time to poke around under the hood. If we are going to be affected by some new work, WordPress should tell us beyond saying “something is wrong,” at the time you are using the software.

It’s not what you are thinking. It’s not upside down. I was standing directly under it, photographing up. I was going to flip it around. I thought it would read easier for many of you in what is a “normal” positioning.
I thought again.
Stay safe. Wear your mask. Keep your distance. (Don’t make me come over there — in my mom’s words.) Enjoy every French Fry.
