American Stooge

One tree.

Sad. That’s what I am. The capitol’s violence broke my heart. My country is so broken that I have no idea what to do. It’s above my pay grade.

That’s not all. I’m angry. I’m hurt. And, I knew it was bad when Turkey told us to settle down and mediate this. Turkey? Really? We are worse than a third world country.

I’m not alone in this, but I lay all of this at the feet of Donald J. Trump. I’ve tried not to mention his name on this blog. But, yesterday was beyond the pale.

I know that we will have a new president in two weeks. I know that it looks like the senate has been flipped. That’s not enough. Trump is a criminal. He must be impeached again. He must be convicted by the senate. That will keep him from every running for office again.

Then New York can do its thing.

I fear for this country in the next two weeks. It’s going to be a very dark time.

That’s it from me.

And, you?

Stay safe. Stay strong. Stay mighty. Wear your mask. Wash your hands. Keep your distance. Look after each other. Enjoy all the art.

Peace.

Peace.

Peace.

Art. Doesn’t seem like much. Doesn’t seem to matter in light of the rioting in our capital. In light of the violent transfer of power in The United States.

But, art matters. Art in any genre matters. Art is what keeps us human. Art is what nourishes our souls.

So.

I keeping making art. You should too.

When I saw this tree in the light that was illuminating it, I knew what I wanted to do.

So, I did it.

I stripped the picture down to its barest elements. Doing that brought out some underlying color. That’s what you are seeing.

I’ve been trying not to use bordering except when the picture needed it. This picture need it to hold it on the page.

That’s it.

I feel with you, Ray. I really do. Be strong, stay healthy! The very, very best wishes from Vienna, Austria, Europe, planet Earth, our home (so far I believe it still is the only one we have …)

Thank you. Fix the virus, fix the polarity, fix the earth and we’ll be on to something.

Thank you. Electing Biden will do a lot of good but it’s up to us.

Yes, now than ever it is important to stick on heart & reason … noone in the world can deny that we’re all into it, … well, one can, but we all feel the consequences …

I’m angry right along with you. Actually, I’m enraged. I suppose I’m sad, too, but the anger is still a little too high to access another emotion. Meanwhile we here in Los Angeles are in a world of Covid-hurt. I’m wired with frustration about that. I haven’t left home more than a dozen times in 10 months. Thankfully, my dog is a very good listener!

I actually served in a war. I swore an oath to defend The Constitution. Later in life I worked for UPI covering the president and the senate. I’d walk through the senate building in awe every time I was assigned there. And, those clowns dared to hurt our home? We, in NOLA, are not as bad off as ya’ll are. But, we shut down bars and restaurants this morning at 1am. I can’t go anywhere either. We shop, we walk the dogs and stay home. I was looking at the 50 best films on Netflix on the NY Times site. We’ve already seen 49 of them. The dogs, OTH, are having their best year ever.

I really respect you for your service, and thank you, too. I think your experience shows in the passion with which you share so honestly. I get so emotional that I lose a lot of my ability to speak clearly!

Very cool about the Netflix list! I’m kind of all over the place, but it would be great to approach a bit more systematically. I’ll have to find that list. 🙂

Thank you. They made me go. The ping pong ball — remember those — was 13. I would have been drafted into the Army as an infantryman or because the Marines were so broken, as a rifleman. I tested well. I was an army aviator. I flew Huey missions as a medivac bird.

Go to the entertainment section. It’s pretty much right on top.

I sure do remember the ping pong ball! 13! My brother was waiting, but not called. I don’t remember his number, but now I want to ask. Even forced, I sure do respect that you served. I truly do.

Thank you again. At least my job isn’t to kill people. I even gave bad guys a ride to the MASH unit. After searching the, of course. Some appreciated it, and some needed restraints, but we helped the. After all, a human being is a human being.
