ou’ll never believe what I did to this picture. Before I tell you, let me say that for the rest of this week Storyteller will look a little different.

WordPress sent me a long email about changes to the block system to which I replied, “Oh God.”

WordPress sent me a long email about changes to the block system to which I replied, “Oh God.”

I thought about it for a little while and decided that rather than complain out of hand I should at least test some of the new stuff. There’s a lot of it.

Immediately, you see the tag cloud. They have existed from the dawn of WordPress, but not in such a flexible manner. If all I can do is make the text red, this will be my last day of using it. I suspect that I might be able to make color changes in the text block.

I’m also adding a publishing calendar and a comments list today. There may be other things, or I’ll just wait until tomorrow.

August 2021

et’s start with the tag cloud text color. I can’t find a way to change it, but I’ll leave it for today.

On to the picture.

I made it in broad daylight probably around 10 am. It is a winter tree against a cloudless blue sky.

My original post production turned the sky a very dark blue and the branches almost a silvery white. I posted that some time ago.

Last night I started messing with it because I had to clear my head of a day in which another New Orleans photographer died. I’ll write a bit about him tomorrow.

I turned the branches green and the sky turned black on its own after color overlap from the branches.

I made sure the image was as sharp as possible and gave it to you.

Haven’t seen an email re this. It’s good to tweak the sites sometimes. The block system seems to work OK, I just haven’t looked into everything that can be done.

Unless you pay for it you won’t get emails. You could probably create a direct sales and payment portal from here.

I need to look at all this retail side. Facebook is unbelievably obtuse in its dealings with communications, posting etc. It’s been an uphill struggle. What shoukd be simple, reaching out to like minded customers, has turned into a labyrinth of hidden algorithms, dodgy database continuity and outright bad management of the rules. It never was easy getting a product to market but I really don’t want to end up a slave to the Internet.
Will look at WordPress as really don’t want eggs all in one basket. Shopify site is working fine but still amazes me how some fundamental elements do not function properly. I used to design databases and they need a very tight, neat set of hierarchies and connections, and bolting on bits n bobs will never work. It’s one of those weeks!

Yes I will look into this. BTW, how’s the back? Mines been a bit debilitating and been hitting the codeine, but I now know it causes my migraines, so that’s been helpful. No summer here. Cloudy, cool and actually better than the normal scorging June to August. We did a tonne of outdoor work and it was a relief to not have to postpone due to the heat. No lockdowns here…we are officially Covid innert in our area. The most rampart thing here are brambles!

My back has been fine since March. My Primary Care doc sent me to a pain management specialist. After x-rays and an MRI, he determined that I had a pinched nerve which was always a possibility because I have stenosis which narrows the sheath that protects the nerve running from my brain to my tailbone. He gave me two long term epidurals. We hoped that I would at least get three months relief or that it would allow the flesh to heal and loose the inflammation. It’s been almost six months and no pain. The two [;aces we could live are among the worst in the nation for Delta-x.

That’s good news re back. Bet your relieved. I had a scan way back and they said arthritis but I need another as the chiropractor said it wasn’t snd actually my spine was out of alignment. He sorted the worst pain but it’s still a daily issue. I sort of manage it OK but after a hard physical day I get a migraine from it, so it’s all nerve issues. Al day in bed today…very severe one. But tomorrow I wil rest.
Worrying re the virus…but in France the hot spots are coastal and southern regions.

I have osteoarthritis in four vertebrae plus a bulging disc. None of that hurts me but it did cause the stenosis. The entire US is red meaning Delta X is surging. But in Louisiana we are purple which means we have a bigger rate of infection than just about everywhere.

Scary. In France the edges purple, some reds but there is just one green spot in the country..Creuse, where we are. There are more cows than people!
