Don’t Call Them Trollies

ew Orleans is known for a lot of things. One of them is our streetcars. The green streetcars run along St.Charles Avenue and, eventually, Carrolton. They are the most of famous of the two. The red cars run up Canal Street and eventually end up at City Park.

This is little portfolio came together while I was looking for something else.

There is one thing to know among many. These are streetcars. They are not trolleys, or trams. If you want to annoy a local call them a trolley.

My neighbor ignores people who don’t use the correct term. I remind her that tourism is our only business. She replies if tourists find New Orleans so enchanting they should learn to use the correct words.

She’s right, but still…
