About The People

A

s Neil Young once wrote, “The things I’ve seen mean a lot.” He’s right, of course. That’s one reason that I’m a photographer. I want to show you what I’ve seen and hopefully what it means to me and to you.

Of course, your meaning is made by your own life experiences. It’s really hard for me to influence you with my work no matter how hard I try.

That’s how it should be.

For instance, my favorite picture on this page is the bottom one. It is of the celebration following Big Chief Monk Boudreaux’s wedding day on Mardi Gras Day. I was invited along with about 1,000 of his friends. You might enjoy looking at the Indians, but it doesn’t mean that much to you.

Me?

I’ll remember that day forever.

Swirling around him.
