oly Moly. I started looking in some archives that are deeper than the rest. Boy, did I find surprising pictures. Pictures that I not only forgot about, but were core parts of some interesting projects. This is one of them.
This is a bull.
Slow your roll.. She — the women — is a bull in the annual “Running of the Bulls” that is held every year in New Orleans. There are runners and bulls, just like in Pamplona, except nobody gets gored. Instead the women who play the part of bulls tag people with a long foam stick, like a pool noodle.
It’s all in good fun.
Sheesh. I was just standing in the street photographing the event, when I got tagged. As I said, it’s all in good fun. And, drinking, which I don’t.
They do offer as much cold water as you want which is a great thing because it’s a summer event when the temperature at eight o’clock in the morning when the temperature is already 90 degrees with humidity of 625929%. Kidding. More like 85%.
Photographing an event like this requires at least 64 ounces of water. I never need a restroom, because the water is recycled through my body and ends up on my clothes. If I didn’t drink at least that much water it would be sun or heat stroke for me.
I came close to that at one second line when we had to wait three hours for it to start. I realized I was feeling shaky, so I sat down, soaked my head, bought more water and drank about 32 ounces. I gave up on the parade, walked to my car which was parked in the shade, started it, turned on the air conditioner and sat there until I felt better. A friend happened to be passing-by. He hung with me until I felt better And, he was sure of it. He also wanted to sit in the cold car. He admitted that. We both laughed.
It’s summer right now. Watch yourself.
