Don’t Give Up

Stranger and stranger.

This picture took a lot of time to work on because it was improperly exposed. It was banding. When I darkened it, it became too dark to view. I went backwards and tried to lighten it. That made it worse. I was determined not to give up.

So, I didn’t.

I basically made a mess but a fun mess. There’s all sorts of things going on that are sort of just peaking through the image. That glowing light under the power lines is the moon.

I’m going to share something I learned earlier this week while listening to a podcast about creativity and zen. They talked about the most productive artist in history.

Care to guess who it was?

Prince. Yes, the purple one.

During his lifetime he recorded well over 2,000 songs not including the ones you know about. The ones that were released.

Here’s what you really need to know.

Work fast. (Keep the flow going)

Finish. (One project completed during a day)

Don’t be a perfectionist.

Don’t over think.

Make art every day.

Sleep.

Develop a vault mentality. (Be output driven to build your legacy)

I give up on WordPress. If there is an easy way and a hard way to do something they always pick the hard way. In order to use that embed that you see above, you have to link it to a specific post. You cannot link to an overall site. I managed to link the https site… to nothing.

Enough.

This is an amazing vision. Thanks for the insights. I’m all over the place lately!

Thank you so much. Most of the words came from Prince. But, I couldn’t agree more and it seems that I’ve done something like it for years.
