Somebody Told Me

Night tree.

Rolling, rolling, rolling.

I made two good pictures on the day that I made this one, The first one, you’ll see it tomorrow, was intentional. This one was an accident, but not in the usual way. The light was turning golden so I thought I’d wait for it. I was laying down with two dogs on the couch.

Their breathing evened out. They fell asleep. So did I. I awoke about a half hour later. No golden light. Only night.

Well hell, I thought.

I realized that with a slow exposure the camera could probably gather what was left of the ambient light. I took a chance. the chance took me and I made the picture.

I’m really happy with this picture.

It’s like nothing that came before.

You should be happy. It’s a stunning image. It strange how chance plays an important factor in photograph as in other things.

Mike Campbell who was Tom Petty’s lead guitar player for many years says whenever that happens it’s luck and magic. Since you know that I’m not a technical guy, I couldn’t agree more with him. It’s icing and raining today. The only magic I’ll have today is if I don’t fall and break my butt.

Well try to stay safe. Cold here but no ice. I know we would not have a clue of how to deal with it.

You slide around a lot. I had to cut a path for the dog so they could go out in the morning. hen they were done they headed inside to the fireplace and their beds.

These are my faves of your picture genres. I have one like this on the wall in our foyer. Mystical. Magical.

Not this exact one, but similar. I’ll send a pic when we get home. Happy new year!
