On The Second Day

Tree basking in golden light.

What can I say?

I like trees. I also like golden light, so I make a point of trying to work around that time of day. I also like interesting shapes so I photograph in a way that lends itself to extreme crops.

I suppose I like photographing trees because they are a symbol of rebirth.

Indigenous people say that they are sacred and should be honored as such.

Unfortunately, those of us who came later don’t honor much of anything. Not me. I do my best to honor the universe and everything in it. Sometimes I fail. When was the last time you let a swarm of mosquitos bite you because you didn’t do something — anything — to keep them away?

Anyway.

This is number two of what I hope will be a long line of photographs produced during my new PAD era.

You know what they say.

One day at a time.
