A Decade Of Nothing

This is just a picture. I made it roughly a decade ago. I made it on Christmas Eve 2012. I made it at the bonfires on the river near Lutcher, Louisiana. We light the bonfires to guide Papa Noel down the Mississippi River to New Orleans so all the fine people of the city canContinue reading “A Decade Of Nothing”

Cooler

I t began today. Cool air. Not exactly cool but very dry. And, the temperature struggled to reach 75 degrees. For us, after our usual very hot summer that included a hurricane and a half this is the start of something very good. Fall. Thankfully.

The Between Time

It started during the pandemic and was enhanced by Delta-x and Hurricane Ida. Memories. They’ve been floating around for days. It was bad enough when time was flexible. Now? Whew. And. Then. The anniversary of Warren Zevon’s passing arrived. You know. The guy who sang “Werewolves of London.” He was so much more than that.Continue reading “The Between Time”

Last Chance Lost

T he original image is ancient. I was playing around during a snowstorm in New Mexico. It was one of my picture a day images. It’s shredded newspaper. Everything came together at once. I need to make a picture and I had a new shredder that I wanted to test. So, I shredded up aContinue reading “Last Chance Lost”

Sunrise, Sunrise, I Can See It

Sometimes it’s all light and color with just a hint of subject matter. Sometimes it’s more. This picture straddles both, leaning to the previous. It’s sort of musical. That’s just as well. It’s been a musical sort of day. The musicians in my life have been playing sort of tag with me and I withContinue reading “Sunrise, Sunrise, I Can See It”

7:04 AM

Early in the morning, when the sun comes up. Yes. 7:04 am. That’s when the all seeing dog just had to go for a walk. I think she knew something that I didn’t. She used her ESP to know that the sky with this wonderfully backlighted cloud would be one of the first things thatContinue reading “7:04 AM”

Way Back Then

Sunday. I spent most of yesterday thinking it was Friday. It was not. Since I wrote the word, “Sunday ,” I’m hopeful that it will stick in my head. Time is elastic. For some reason I spent all of yesterday sleeping. I managed to get Sophie Rose her meds, which was my crowning achievement. ThatContinue reading “Way Back Then”

Particle and Wave

I’ve heard that everybody hits a wall. The wall comes after too much isolation. After too much inside. After not being able to visit friends without a handshake or hug. I thought that I was fine. That we were fine. We have our own little circle. But, that’s not enough. I awoke yesterday feeling tired.Continue reading “Particle and Wave”

I AM A Child

Sometimes a walk is just the thing that you need. Children need more than that. They need to be outdoors. They need fresh air. They need to play. They need to learn. We are locked down. Most people thought they would live, work and play in the digital world. Sure, that’s occured. The use ofContinue reading “I AM A Child”
