The Rain

Yes. It’s August in Southeaster Louisiana. That means lots of rain storms. Lots of heavy rain coming out of nowhere. And, once in a while, a tropical storm or  –worse — the threat of a hurricane. And, sometimes… oh, never mind. Katrina is history. That said, I have long believed that pictures are everywhere. YouContinue reading “The Rain”

And, On The Fourth of July

I’m not really a big fireworks kind of guy. So, while I was thinking about what to post today, I came up with the idea of a collection of Americana pictures. So here we go.

Completely Different

It’s Sunday. A new day. A new month. Time to share a summertime picture.

Tres Piedras

More from my summer roads series. There is one problem with this picture. I’d forgotten that it’s been around a bit. When I Googled Tres Piedras his picture comes up as number one on Google images and number 9 in general Google search results. That’s okay. It’s part of my editing project so those ofContinue reading “Tres Piedras”

… Is Melting In The Dark

An old friend mentioned an old song called MacArthur Park. Apparently, his brother never thought it made any sense. It made sense. To a few of us… and, I’ll leave it like that. Anyway. This is Hong Kong, made from my roof top. But, it could be any city which is the point of thisContinue reading “… Is Melting In The Dark”

A Little Bit of Spring

An easy picture today. Something to make you smile. The picture? Pretty simple. I just stuck my camera into a bunch of flowers and pushed the button. These days, with articulated LCDs, it is very easy to do. You just sort of have to find the right subject.

Powerful Place

I spent many years in Hong Kong. It may very well be like another home to me. Like anything, some days I miss it a lot. And, on other days, not so much. This is an image that was made looking toward Northpoint, an Eastern District area of Hong Kong which is, comparatively speaking, mostlyContinue reading “Powerful Place”

Another Road Picture

Well. This road picture is a little different. Usually, I make pictures through the windshield, while I’m driving. Not this time. At least I parked and photographed what I saw in my mirror. I like this frame. It’s about leaving. It’s about winter. It’s about being on the road. The color is nice too. It’sContinue reading “Another Road Picture”

Happy Easter

There doesn’t seem to be much to add to that except to tell you were the picture was made. My favorite street in Albuquerque is Edith Blvd. It starts as a fairly normal urban road as you leave central Albuquerque, but eventually peters out into a two lane country road and finally it turns intoContinue reading “Happy Easter”
