You Just Have To

T here was big news in New Orleans yesterday. New Orleans Saints (American football) Coach Sean Payton retired. The city is in shock. Some say it’s just a game. I think that the team impacts the city in many ways. Allied jobs rise and fall because of what the team does. He’s an honest man.Continue reading “You Just Have To”

All That You Dream

A s I recall, it was hot. A lot of us were sucking down water and sweating it out as fast as we drank it. We were tripping all over each other. I stepped on someone. I turned around to apologize mostly with my eyes because we couldn’t hear anything. They guy I stepped onContinue reading “All That You Dream”

Sleeping

Sleeping. After working to get ready for Hurricane Sally last night, I went to bed. I slept. I awoke at my usual time. That was nowhere near enough sleep. I did some morning work, walked Sophie and came home. I finished reading the news of that day. Sophie was sleeping on the bed. That lookedContinue reading “Sleeping”

Colorific

The boy on his bike withContinue reading “The Energy of Color”

Another Lock

I found another one. A lock. That’s two days in a row. This time it was just sitting on a curb. Locked tight. It looked like it had been left there on purpose. It took me a long time to figure out how to even make the picture. When I did, I didn’t like theContinue reading “Another Lock”

Drifting

Two leaves. Stuck in the mud. Going nowhere. Spring rains and construction leave almost no place to walk if you choose certain directions. Either there is mud. Or, pooled water. The dog who accompanies me comes home with muddy paws. I come home with muddy feet. The kitchen floor needs to be mopped twice daily.Continue reading “Drifting”

Rain & Other Stuff

A little inspiration. My writing usually comes from something that I’ve read or saw a day or two before I publish a post. Whatever new information I picked up spins around in my brain for a bit and comes back out in the form of a few comments on Storyteller. Normally I write about whateverContinue reading “Rain & Other Stuff”
