Cloud Play

I talk like it’s spring. With colder temperatures and big rain storms mother nature reminds me that we are still officially in winter months. That’s a good thing. Because. Low winter light makes pictures like this possible as it bounces through the remaining clouds of a fleeting storm. Yeah, I enhanced it a little bit.Continue reading “Cloud Play”

In the Springtime

Spring. Rebirth. Renewal. We aren’t used to very much cold weather. This year we had some very cold weather, with temperatures in the low teens. That cold spell killed everything especially our semi tropical plants which are not used to freezing weather. Dead and brown ferns are pretty ugly, so we cut them down toContinue reading “In the Springtime”

Twenty One

Twenty One. I’ll discuss that in a minute. But, first, let’s talk about the moon picture. It’s moody and mysterious. It’s probably better used as a Halloween picture. I made it yesterday. I wanted to show it to you today. I still have no idea what’s causing the reddish glow. Sunset is way over beyondContinue reading “Twenty One”

Winter Tree

What a strange transition. It’s still winter. In the Southeast winter transitions into spring very early. That’s normal. But, the high temperatures are normally still around 65 degrees. For the last couple of days the temperatures have hovered around 82 degrees. Setting new records. That’s pretty hot for this time of year. It’s confusing too.Continue reading “Winter Tree”

Ice, Ice, and a Little More Ice

It arrived. The cold front and storm. It closed just about everything. Roads. Businesses. Schools. Bars. In New Orleans, that’s a disaster. It closed the interstate highway system to the point that if you drove around barriers because you thought you are smarter than anyone else you could be arrested. The state declared a disaster.Continue reading “Ice, Ice, and a Little More Ice”

Cold, Cold, Cold

18 degrees. That’s what Alexa said when I went for our usual morning walk. I have no idea what weather service Amazon uses, but the world was frozen when I went out. I was wearing cold weather underwear. I was wearing heavy socks. Good cold weather gear. Still I was cold. The dog who seesContinue reading “Cold, Cold, Cold”

Landmarks

Finally. I seem to be feeling better. That’s good. I’m running out of fresh work. I made this picture a few weeks ago. But, I didn’t tinker with it. Until today. I wanted a certain color, shade and hue. I thought that I was onto something new and different. The joke is on me. I’veContinue reading “Landmarks”

Very, Very Green

Yes. Very. Green. On the first day of winter. I keep saying that our winters aren’t like the winters people experience in the north. The weather is different for y’all. Even when you cross the Causeway to the Northshore the weather cools down and acts a little — well, wintry. After a couple of daysContinue reading “Very, Very Green”

Changes

With the change of the seasons come other changes. Life changes. Uh oh. What am I changing? My changes aren’t so much about life as much as they are about my work. My career. Storyteller. I’m telling you my plans now because I really am unsettled when somebody that I follow, and converse with aContinue reading “Changes”
