Fall Finally

Fall fell finally. Like that alliteration? The weather isn’t going to be all that different. The temperatures will drop by 10 or 15 degrees. That’s it. Eighty degree weather will return by the end of the week. If the humidity remains on the low side that will be fine. If not, it’s bait and switch.Continue reading “Fall Finally”

More Route 66

A little more Route 66. You seem to like this collection. I’ll keep going a little bit. I like these pictures too. I haven’t really looked at them for a long time. Luckily, these images are easily accessible in my archives. On second thought. Luck had nothing to do with accessibility. That’s just management.Continue reading “More Route 66”

An Evening Sky

This week. Whew. I was stumbling around in my files around trying to find a peaceful Sunday picture. I still want to keep my promise and publish Christmas pictures until the big day. But. But. But. I’m feeling pretty numb just about now. I don’t think I’m feeling much different from most of the peopleContinue reading “An Evening Sky”

In A Different Place

So. This Christmas picture is really Christmasy. How could it not be? It’s a Christmas tree photographed simply and cleanly using one of my framing tricks which is to leave a lot of sky in the background. It was made in New Mexico. That’s probably why there is such nice blue sky and light. OfContinue reading “In A Different Place”

Been So Long

Only in New Mexico. Only in the high desert of Northern New Mexico can you see a wonderful sunset and feel the rain on your shoulders at the same time. It’s wonderful. The rain falls. Hard. But you know that it won’t last long and you can get back to it. Or just get toContinue reading “Been So Long”

Mother Country

I had a weird client request. Not weird because the content requested is exactly what I like to do. I do it for myself. I like to photograph the act of traveling. Not the destination. Not the pretty beach scene. Or mountain scene. Oh. Don’t get me wrong. I do like those things. But, theContinue reading “Mother Country”

Do Me Favor, Please?

I don’t normally ask for things like this. But, please vote for this picture. Here. http://www.bucketlistpublications.com/portfolio-view/travel-photo-contest-19/ I’ve entered it in a fellow blogger’s travel photo contest. The picture? It was made a few years ago in Albuquerque, New Mexico on the opening day of The International Balloon Fiesta. It was mostly a combination of luck and, well,Continue reading “Do Me Favor, Please?”

The Edge of Town

It must be my mood. I like this picture. A lot. I don’t know why. It was made in Albuquerque, New Mexico. It is located at the most far western end of Central Avenue, which means it is also where the Albuquerque’s section of old Route 66 comes to an end. This was one ofContinue reading “The Edge of Town”

Pink-O-Boogie

I seem to be on a roll with Ry Cooder songs. Most of  these songs are from an album called I, Flathead. Strange desert, country music with a Ry Cooder twist. Makes me think of some of the stranger places that I’ve photographed along Route 66 for that project. So. These pictures were made inContinue reading “Pink-O-Boogie”
