Out West

Morning fingers. Hopefully, I stopped the first post before WordPress posted it. We’ll see. I’ve been rooting around in my files, looking for unseen pictures. You know, lost pictures. Same thing happens in music except now original masters are lost forever because a UMG (Universal Music Group) storage facility burned to the ground. The listContinue reading “Out West”

Working

Something a little different. For me. More along the lines of what I actually do for money. But, this time it was luck. I went to visit with a friend, parked the car, let the dog walk over me to jump out, looked up and saw this scene. Wowie Zowie. I made a lot ofContinue reading “Working”

Driftin’ Back

More Hong Kong. This is Admiralty just as it comes toward Central. This is pretty much the heart of the banking and government center. I made this picture late at night. Normally, this place is just packed with hundreds of people scurrying here, there and everywhere. But, not at around 9pm. I was able toContinue reading “Driftin’ Back”

Cross Town Traffic

There is one Cross Harbor tunnel in Hong Kong. It connects Hong Kong Island to Kowloon at Hung Hom. It was built in 1972.  There are two other tunnels called The Eastern and Western Harbour Crossing tunnels as well. Even though they were designed to ease traffic flow even during peak hours of travel. TheyContinue reading “Cross Town Traffic”

The Rain

Yes. It’s August in Southeaster Louisiana. That means lots of rain storms. Lots of heavy rain coming out of nowhere. And, once in a while, a tropical storm or  –worse — the threat of a hurricane. And, sometimes… oh, never mind. Katrina is history. That said, I have long believed that pictures are everywhere. YouContinue reading “The Rain”

And, On The Fourth of July

I’m not really a big fireworks kind of guy. So, while I was thinking about what to post today, I came up with the idea of a collection of Americana pictures. So here we go.

On The Road

When I lived in New Mexico, I realized that Albuquerque is really a giant truck stop. That’s not a negative statement. It’s just the  understanding that while the city has spread out in every direction, the crossroads of I-40 and I-25 are located there. Old Route 66 ran through the city not only east andContinue reading “On The Road”

Once A Day

Well, I’m looking back. But, not so far back given that March just ended yesterday. Please take a look at my small collection of pictures from what appears to be my never-ending project called, PAD, or picture a day. I started this thing four years ago. Every time that I reach the end of oneContinue reading “Once A Day”

Quirky Western Pictures

When I take road trips, I sort of shape shift as I work. Sometimes I try to make pictures that are a little iconic. Sometimes I try to channel my best Ernst Haas. Sometimes I look for quirky subjects. These images are quirky. There is a little twist to them. Maybe there is a littleContinue reading “Quirky Western Pictures”
